The radiocarbon dates attest to probably two Neolithic occupation phases at Ain Abu Nukhayla. The older sample from the recent Layer 7 was probably dislocated from the earlier occupation phase. The sum of the early phase ranges between 7710 BC and 7540 BC, whereas the younger dates cluster around 7580-7350 BC. As both phases overlap slightly, it cannot be ruled out that there was only one short occupation during the time frame in which both data series overlap.
